Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Lead Minister for Resilience, Keith Brown MSP, with representatives from SSEN Distribution in Pitfichie Forest

Last week, colleagues from SSEN Distribution met Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Lead Minister for Resilience, Keith Brown MSP, in rural Aberdeenshire to discuss recent investment in network and community resilience ahead of the winter.

SSEN Distribution’s Director of Operations, Mark Rough, alongside colleagues from SSEN’s North Caledonia region, welcomed Mr Brown to Pitfichie Forest near Monymusk, where SSEN has been working to clear trees away from overhead power lines.

Topics discussed included learnings from last winter’s exceptional storm season, the importance of working in partnership with local communities and resilience partners, SSEN’s enhanced investment in network, community and personal resilience and future plans to power communities to net zero during the RIIO-ED2 price control period.
