Why would I need tree cutting?
You will need to request tree cutting if you have a tree on your land that is growing near our overhead electricity cables. We will send a tree cutter to see if any work is needed.
We can not promise that we will cut the tree(s) as we will send a tree cutter to see what work required first.
If we need to cut your trees, this is free of charge.
If a tree is touching our overhead cables and you think this is unsafe, then please call 105 or message us on our social media.
Before you apply, you will need:
This is where the tree that is near our overhead electricity cable is. We need this so we can find the tree.
Please provide a photo if you can.
We need this so we can see what type of tree it is and what work may be needed to cut the tree. (This picture needs to show the tree and our electricity cable)
Customers who provide a photo have their applications processed quicker!
We need this so we know what work is needed to cut the tree.
We can only cut trees that are on your land. If the tree is on public property, please contact your local council.
Please let us know if you have a locked gate or anything that would stop us from being able to cut the tree.
Is there vehicle access close to the tree?
We advise anyone working near our electricity cables or substations to read the HSE's 'working near electricity' guidance notes by clicking here.
