Why would I need Multiple Protective Earthing (PME)?
Your electrician may suggest that you install or upgrade your earthing system.
This will protect you, your home and the equipment inside your home from damage. Other types of earthing are available, an electrician can advise you more about this.
We will check if PME is available, free of charge.
Before you apply, you will need:
This is the location of the meter. We need this so we can plan how to get to the meter to check is PME is available.
Example - under the stairs, in the garage.
Please provide a photo if you can.
We need this so we can see what your main electricity fuse looks like. This helps us to see if PME is available at your property.
Customers who provide a photo have their applications processed quicker!
We need this so we can see how the electricity comes into your property. This helps us to see if PME is available in your area.
We need confirmation from an electrician that your property has been bonded (bonding is where the metal gas and water pipes in your home have been connected to an earthing block or clamp) and confirmation of current earthing setup.
Your electrician will be able to tell you if you have this.
We need this so we can make sure we can visit your property safely.
Is there a locked gate or driveway? Can our engineer get to the meter board safely?
