We’re looking for qualified and experienced Linespeople to join our core teams. Using your skills, judgement and experience, you’ll work alongside a skilled team maintaining the network and responding quickly to faults, including during major storm events. There are strong opportunities to develop your skills and gain further qualifications as your role progresses within the team.

Utility Arborist
We’re growing our team and looking for people who enjoy working outdoors and have experience climbing or working at height. Using your skills, judgement and experience, you’ll work alongside a skilled team clearing trees and vegetation near our overhead network, helping keep the lights on for customers. There are strong opportunities to develop your skills and move into specialist roles within the arborist team, with full training provided.

Cable Jointer
We’re looking for skilled Cable Jointers to join our operational teams. Using your skills, judgement and experience, you’ll work alongside a skilled team carrying out LV and HV jointing for maintenance and repair work across the network. There are strong opportunities to develop your skills and build your career within a role that offers varied and hands-on work.

Join SSE as an Apprentice or Trainee Engineer and you’ll earn a salary while you work towards an accredited qualification – one that will set you up for a rewarding career in a thriving industry. Our programmes take around three to four years to complete and we welcome applications from ambitious people from all kinds of backgrounds.
