Following the impact of Storm Gareth, which resulted in a number of weather related faults on both SSEN's central southern England and north of Scotland network regions, SSEN remains on standby in anticipation that there may be further bad weather on the horizon.

SSEN's current weather models show that the period of unsettled weather may continue throughout the rest of the week, which could see high winds and heavy rain continue to impact much of the country. The combination of weather conditions may result in disruption to customer supplies as a result of damage to SSEN's electricity networks. SSEN would like to reassure its customers that it stands ready to reactivate its tried and tested resilience plans, should this be required.

Further updates will be provided as required once there is greater confidence in the weather forecasts and the potential impact on SSEN's networks.
