A multi-million pound project to upgrade the electricity infrastructure serving the Fleet and Camberley areas will start next month.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is investing £3 million to boost the resilience of the network supplying the area's homes and businesses as part of its commitment to taking a "you said, we did" approach to investing in its vital infrastructure.
The works to replace underground cables and renew substation equipment will get under way on Monday 2 September and will run for approximately six months.
Yu Qian, is SSEN's Project Manager for the Thames Valley project and explains further: "At SSEN, we are driving our commitment to customers to ensure that they have the most resilient and future-proof network to meet their requirements, now and in the years to come."
"The underground cabling section of this three-kilometre long upgrade will see the removal of cabling that we know will soon be reaching the end of its working live, replacing it with a modern alternative that will serve the area for decades."

Further details on the engagement event will be issued at the beginning of September, with all welcome to attend and talk to the SSEN project team about the investment works in the area and what it means for them.
The project will start near the Minley interchange of the M3 at junction 4A passing through the Thames Basin Heaths and Hawley Commons. Any impact on local traffic will be mainly on Fernhill Road, Fernhill Lane and Hawley Road from late September to March 2020, and those using the roads in the area are advised to check for latest updates on www.roadworks.org.
