Works by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) to improve and upgrade the power supplies to Camberley are about to enter their next phase.
The £2 million programme, carried out over 25 weeks and including the replacement of 5km of new overhead line, will benefit residents and businesses in the area by reinforcing the existing network to improve capacity and resilience to faults.
With the project on time and on budget, SSEN would like to update its customers on the final traffic management system required to install an essential section of cable.
Miles Crossley, SSEN's Project Manager explains more:
"This project to reinforce Camberley's power supply is now approaching the last few weeks and we've worked closely with the local authority to plan out a traffic management system that will allow us to move towards the completion of the works and cause the least disruption to residents and businesses."
"SSEN will work in twelve hour shifts to maximise the opportunity to work safely in daylight hours and minimise any interruption to the road system. We've taken great care to work during times that include school holidays, so roads are quieter and I'd like to thank the area's residents and businesses for their ongoing patience and understanding while we work to improve their network."
To enable us to complete this stage of works SSEN and the local authority will require to install traffic management systems from Friday 24 August 2018, as follows:
- Rosemary Lane will be closed at the junction with the A30 - residents of Rosemary Lane and adjacent side roads will be diverted via Rosemary Lane to Darby Green Lane and Reading Road.
- Aldi Customers will be diverted via A30 to Reading Road, Darby Green Road and Rosemary Lane.
- Closures and/or diversions will be in place on Frogmore Road, Bell Lane, Rosemary Gardens, Beaulieu Gardens and Frogmore Park Drive
- Station access will be closed at the junction with Rosemary Lane.
- Green Lane at the junction with A30 will be left turn only.
- Vicarage Road will be closed at the junction with A30.
