Following on from the success of last month's event, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is to host a second Public Information session this Thursday (15th) where members of the local community can meet with the team behind the current £2.6m project to upgrade the local electricity network. When the project is completed, the new cables will make the local network more robust and resilient and minimise the risk of power cuts for customers in the Weymouth area.
Miles Crossley, SSEN's Project Manager, said: "The session we held last month was a great opportunity for us to meet with members of the local community and let them know about our essential work, and it also gave guests the chance to ask any questions or raise any concerns they may have had. Based on the success of the last event, we have decided to hold up a follow-up session, where we can provide an update on the work we have already done and share our plans for the remainder of the project. Last month's event was a great success, and I'd encourage anyone who has any questions about the work we are doing, or who wants to learn more about this essential project, to come along and meet the team on Thursday."
The event will run between 2-6:30pm on Thursday 15February at Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, Hamm Beach Road, Portland, DT 5 1SA; free tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
