As works get under way to improve Camberley's electricity infrastructure, residents are being invited to attend a community event to find out more about the project.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is upgrading the network powering the town of Camberley, with a 25 week project that will include the replacement of 5km of new overhead line.
The £2m improvement programme is being carried out to make the local electricity supply more robust and resilient, enabling it to meet the current and increasing demands of homes and businesses in and around the town.
Residents and businesses will be able to discuss the project, and what it means for the town, at a community event being held on Tuesday 5 June in the Memorial Hall at Hawley Green Leisure Centre.
Christopher Smart, SSEN's Project Manager, said: "This upgrade is essential for those who live and work in Camberley and for its future residents and businesses, but at SSEN we appreciate that sometimes these essential works can cause a temporary inconvenience."
"We want to make sure that we explain fully how these works are being carried out and any possible disruption that occurs as a result of this programme of improvement."
"The best way to do this is to speak directly to the local community, taking on board any concerns that people might have and giving everyone the opportunity to meet the team and chat through the project and what it means for Camberley."
The SSEN open community event will be held at:
The Meeting Room, Memorial Hall, Hawley Leisure Centre, Hawley Green, GU17 9BW on Tuesday 5 June from 2:00pm to 8:00pm
