Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, the electricity distribution network operator in the north of Scotland, is carrying out emergency and essential repairs to its underground high voltage network in Aberdeen this weekend. The works will take place on South Anderson Drive, between the Broomhill Road roundabout and the Great Western Road Junction.
To allow the works to be completed safely, a lane closure on the northbound carriageway will be in effect from 7pm Friday to midnight on Sunday. A traffic management plan is in place to minimise disruption to local road users.
Commenting, SSEN's Head of Region, Neil Wilson, said:
"We recognise closing a lane on a busy road can cause disruption so I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to road users this weekend."
"These works are required to carry out essential repairs to the electricity network to maintain a secure and reliable supply of electricity for the local community. The lane closure is required to ensure the safety of our engineers and the public as repairs are carried out."
"We will do everything we can to minimise disruption and thank the local community for their patience."
