Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is sponsoring a new award at the 2017 UK Energy Innovation Awards.
SSEN's Losses Award recognises innovative technologies, practices or solutions that could lead to a reduction in distribution network costs. Winners will get a cash prize of £5,000 for first place, £3,000 for second and £2,000 for third,
The Energy Innovation Centre (EIC), awards searches for SME innovators with ground-breaking technologies that have the potential to help UK distribution networks address their major energy challenges.
Now in its eighth year, the UK Energy Innovation Awards offer an unprecedented opportunity for energy networks and third-party innovators to come together and celebrate the ideas and technologies that offer benefits to customers, industry and the supply chain.
Stewart Reid, Head of Asset Management and Innovation at SSEN, said: "The industry is entering an exciting phase with innovative technologies shaping the way electricity network operators interact with its customers, suppliers and commercial partners. We are sponsoring this award to encourage the creative minds across the country to bring new ideas and solutions to the industry to help shape and influence the future direction of electricity distribution networks."
