Language support

If English isn’t your first language, we can make it easier for you to get help.

  • Online

On our website, you can use the Recite Me toolbar. Just click the yellow button in the bottom left corner of the page and then choose “Try Our Toolbar.” You’ll see options to translate the website into over 125 languages, as well as tools to change how the text looks, is read aloud, or displayed.

  • On the phone

When you call us, you can ask for an interpreter. We’ll connect you through Language Line, which provides translation in more than 240 languages. We can also arrange an interpreter if we visit your home.

Working together to power your peace of mind

"We know that not everyone speaks English as their first language, and it’s important to us that no-one misses out on support during a power cut.

Whether it’s our website’s Recite Me tool, or working with interpreters on the phone, we’ll make sure you can get the help you need in the language that feels most comfortable for you.
