Looped Service FAQs

Yes, if you are needing to increase the amount of electricity you are using, adding a car charger or heat pump, or looking to move your service these looped services will need to be unlooped. 

Photos help us quickly understand your current setup so we can design the work to meet your specific needs without delay. In some cases, we may need to carry out further investigations and arrange a site visit. If this is required, your Project Manager will discuss the next steps with you.

If your neighbour doesn’t agree to the proposed unlooping work, your Project Manager will support you in exploring the best alternative solutions. This may include reviewing different routing options. Your Project Manager will guide you through each step to help minimise delays and additional costs wherever possible.

We will need both you and your neighbour to be at the properties for any required site visits and when we complete the work. We will need access to our equipment and need to carry out our safety checks onsite.

We are responsible for installing, upgrading, moving, and maintaining the service cable and cut‑out. In most cases, unlooping only involves our work. However, if your project requires changes to your meter, meter tails, or internal electrics, such as increasing your load or relocating your meter, you may also need your electricity supplier and/or an electrician. We will let you know who needs to be involved and at what stage. 

Yes, we’ll need to isolate your electricity supply for safety while we carry out the work. This would usually be for half a day or more, depending on the digging required on-site.
