SSEN's current weather model shows the potential for heavy rainfall and lightning across Argyll, west and central Highlands and north east Scotland from this lunchtime into early evening.
Due to elevated forecast of lightning, which brings with it the possibility of some interruptions to power supplies, SSEN has cancelled all major planned outages across the north of Scotland today as a precaution and has additional teams in place to deal with any damage to the network and subsequent faults which may occur.
In preparation for any potential power cuts, we are encouraging our customers to save the emergency power cut number 105 and to follow us on Facebook and Twitter (ssencommunity) for regular updates.
In addition, please see below for links to our free Priority Services Register, our Power Track website and suggestions on how to prepare in case of a power cut.
