Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is teaming up with Skills Development Scotland and holding free events in Inverness and Shetland to encourage parents to help their children understand the benefits of a career in engineering.
My World of Work Live! is a set of interactive exhibits and activities that inspire young people to take up Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) subjects and careers. Parents will have the opportunity to test activities involving Lego, Minecraft and Virtual Reality while also finding out about the breadth of trainee engineer and apprenticeship opportunities available within the energy sector.
SSEN is encouraging parents and carers of children aged between 10 - 15 years old to attend the events and hear why Modern Apprenticeships and trainee engineering programmes can provide a unique opportunity to work, earn and learn at the same time.
