Environmental re-opener submission

Within our regulatory framework, mechanisms exist for Distribution Network Operators like Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to make the case to Ofgem for additional funding for investment if we can justify its need.

We've now submitted a cost submission to the regulator Ofgem for almost £16.4 million.

We're making this request to fund necessary measures to comply with new requirements for waste disposal and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiatives. Biodiversity Net Gain is an approach to development that makes sure that habitats for wildlife are left in a measurably better state than they were before work began.

These regulations have been implemented since the ED2 price control was agreed.
