    New ENA forms and information

    • You will need to complete new G99 standard application forms if applying after 27th April 2019. Any G59 application forms received after 27th April 2019 will not be accepted by DNOs.
    • Additional information must be provided, based on the ‘type’ of generator. Find out which ‘type’ your generator will be categorised as. (G98 and G99 Generator types)
    • Additional information must be provided using new standard forms, prior to commissioning/energisation. 
    • Failure to provide the additional information can affect your planned energisation date.

     

    Technical requirements

    • Technical requirements are determined by the ‘type’ of generator. Find out which ‘type’ your generator will be categorised as and the new requirements that apply. (G98 and G99 Technical requirements)
    • You will need to ensure that the generator you are installing, associated protection, or any other equipment you plan install with your generator, complies with the new requirements under G99.

    Commissioning and compliance requirements

    • Commissioning and compliance requirements are determined by the ‘type’ of generator. Find out which ‘type’ your generator will be categorised as and the new requirements that apply  (G98 and G99 Commissioning requirement)
    • DNOs will be required to undertake additional witness testing and compliance checks on your generator to ensure compliance.
    • Depending on your generator ‘type’, you will need to provide additional information prior to energisation. You may also need to complete new commissioning forms.

    G98 Key Facts

    Microgeneration (up to and including 16Amps per phase) will need to meet new requirements if connecting or applying after 27th April 2019.

    • There are new technical requirements that you will need to ensure your generator complies with. Find out what the additional requirements are, on the Energy Networks Association website.
    • Microgeneration must now by fully type tested to ensure that the design meets G98 requirements.
