With the increasingly rapid rollout of low carbon technologies and the importance of making the most of the built network capacity, distribution network operators are increasingly using new techniques for managing constraints, which SSEN refer to as Flexible Solutions.

Flexible Connections
We design and implement solutions such as Active Network Management (ANM) to allow new customers to connect in constraint areas of the network. -
Flexibility Services
We pay owners of generators or demand assets in specific locations to change their power export or import at times when the network is constrained. The services we buy are Sustain, Secure, Dynamic and Restore.
