Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to attend an engagement event on 24 September 2019, to learn more about its multi-million pound upgrade of the electricity infrastructure serving Fleet and Camberley.
The event will be held at Fernhill School, Neville Duke Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 9BY between 16:00 - 19:00 on Tuesday 24 September 2019, where attendees can find out about the £3 million programme of works to reinforce the network supplying power to the area's homes and businesses.
Members of SSEN's project team will be at the event to discuss the essential works which involve the replacement of underground cables and renewal of substation equipment, and to answer any questions that may arise in relation to the upgrade and its logistics.
SSEN's Project Manager, Yu Qian explains more: "The initial stages of this project are already under way, but with completion in early 2020, we wanted to take this opportunity to talk to local communities about our work to future-proof SSEN's network to meet customer requirements, now and in the years to come."
"An aspect of this upgrade involves existing underground cabling being replaced by a modern alternative that will serve the area's homes and businesses for decades, and is part of SSEN's commitment to taking a "you said, we did" approach to investing in its vital infrastructure."
"We'd like to ask anyone who lives and works in Fleet and Camberley to take the opportunity to drop in to our event on Tuesday 24 September, so they can talk to our team and find out more about the benefits this multi-million pound programme of works will bring to their local area."
All are welcome to attend the event at:
