Electricity network operators have been visiting fire crews across Aberdeenshire to promote safer working around live electrical equipment.
Expert teams from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) held sessions at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stations promoting their 'stay five, stay alive and call 105' message.
The slogan refers to the five metre distance crews should remain from potentially live electricity whilst out on a job.
SSEN operators gave a presentation which included an overview of the network, the different types of equipment crews might encounter and the need to immediately call the 105 emergency line to isolate power supplies and make the area safe for them to carry out their work.
Martin Bowen, Safety Operational Manager at SSEN, attended the sessions with Shona Horn, Customer Relationship Manager for SSEN's North Caledonia region (North East and Shetland).
Martin said: "In total we have managed to deliver the sessions to almost 50 fire officers, building on the already great working relationship we have Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews whilst allowing us to spread critical messages about safety awareness around our equipment."
"Fire and Rescue crews are frequently called upon to operate in extremely challenging conditions without the introduction of live electricity. The sessions delivered will further help ensure they go home safe to their families and loved ones at the end of every shift."
Graeme Laird, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Station Manager for Prevention & Protection, added:
"The safety of our firefighters is of the utmost priority, and so we would like to thank SSEN for taking the time to meet with our staff to highlight and discuss vital safety advice for our crews when working in challenging and hazardous environments."
