SSEN engineer, Megan, inside the new £2.8m Inveralmond Primary substation
Perth's electricity network received a multi-million pound boost as engineering teams energised a new electricity substation in Inveralmond Industrial Estate.
The £2.8m project, completed on time and on budget by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), will connect approximately 3,000 additional homes, Scotland's newest secondary school and other amenities being constructed as part of the Bertha Park development.
3.5 km of underground cables have also been installed to increase the security of supply to surrounding properties in the area, improving the resilience of the existing electricity network currently delivering power to local homes and businesses.
John Thoms, Project Delivery Manager at SSEN, said:
