As part of its 36-month project to upgrade the overhead network between Beauly and Keith, SSEN Transmission will be working on Waterford Road in Forres between 13-19 June.
This section of the project will see teams using specialist machinery to install new overhead line on the existing steel towers. As the route crosses Waterford Road, for the safety of road-users and staff working on the project, Waterford Road, Moray Waste Busters and Waterford Recycling Centre will be closed when the work is being carried out.
The temporary closure, which has been agreed after consultation with Moray Council and the owners of Moray Waste Busters and Waterford Recycling Centre, will take place over two phases on the following dates and times.
- Between 4pm on Wednesday, 12 June and 9am on Friday, 14 June
- Between 4pm on Saturday, 15 June and 9am on Thursday, 20 June
Speaking ahead of the works, Lisa March-Grey, SSEN Transmission's Community Liaison Manager, said:
"We'd like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause, and assure the local community that our teams will do everything possible to ensure that their work is carried out safely and on time."
