Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is hosting three consultation events next week to seek feedback on its proposals to replace the existing submarine cable which connects Carradale to Arran.
The existing cable, which runs from Port Crannaich in Carradale to Balliekine in Arran, is naturally coming to the end of its operational life and now needs to be replaced to enable the continued and reliable electricity supply to the homes and businesses that rely on it.
The open-door events are being hosted in both Arran and Carradale next week by the SSEN project team to provide interested stakeholders with an opportunity to speak with the team and learn more about the project proposals, including the location of the new cable, the onshore landing points and installation methods being considered.

The pre-application consultation events will take place at the following locations:
Mon 21 May Auchrannie Hotel, Arran 2pm- 6pm
Tue 22 May Auchrannie Hotel, Arran 10am - 4pm
Fri 25 May Carradale Village Hall, Carradale 12pm - 3pm
