  • London May 2012 - Britains first smart grid

  • Britain's first smart grid

On 18 May 2012 we held a day of tutorials at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in London. This short video shows how we ran the event and what delegates thought.

Attended by 63 industry experts, the aims of the event were:

    • To provide delegates with practical learning which they could apply in their own roles
    • To promote knowledge sharing within the industry
    • To create a foundation for further knowledge exchange

Delegates engaged in a series of interactive tutorials, promoting learning through small group discussion and activities. The day ended with closing remarks from Gareth Evans of Ofgem. Gareth said:

'The Orkney smart grid project is one of the major successes from our Registered Power Zone scheme. Ofgem are looking for distribution network operators to step up to the plate in sharing the learning from innovation projects and this type of high quality dissemination event is an excellent response - we would like to see more events like this.'
