Generators and demand connections can contribute to delivering a low-carbon, smarter energy system as we seek flexibility providers to support the electricity network.

In these 'Constraint Managed Zones' (CMZ), flexibility services from distributed generation or demand side response can opt-in to being paid to provide and reduce power to support our network to prevent overloading of assets. During maintenance and faults on the network, they can also reduce the reliance on fossil fuel-based energy generation.

SSEN will be issuing two invitations to tender through our Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS):

CMZ North - To procure standard service contracts in our SHEPD licence area across 27 zones to support planned and unplanned network outages.

CMZ South - To procure standard service contracts in our SEPD licence area across 12 zones to support planned and unplanned network outages.

This session will provide an overview of CMZs and the different requested services you may want to offer. We will also describe the procurement process including how to become registered on our Dynamic Purchasing Systems if you are interested in being invited to tender.

Finally, we will seek feedback on our published flexibility services procurement statement.

On accepting this invitation, please note that your email address will be visible to all who join the webinar. If you are registering with a personal email address, please consider providing us with an alternative email. If you do not wish for your email to be visible, please do not join this webinar.

Kind Regards
