SAVE tested and compared the impact of four different interventions with 8,000 Solent customers: Energy efficiency; Education; Monetary incentives; and Community engagement. By fusing smart technologies, with customer interaction, SSEN has developed a model for investment that minimises electricity costs for customers, maximises social benefits, including those to the fuel poor and vulnerable, and reduces carbon emissions. These vital learnings have been broken down by the SAVE project team, and will be presented during the event.

SSEN have commissioned Regen to develop scenarios for the growth of new sources of demand and distributed generation in our Scottish licence. We would like to consult with you on this.
This study which is looking between 2018 and 2032, is an important step in the process of SSEN becoming a Distribution System Operator (DSO). It is part of providing better visibility of the network for market participants as SSEN works to deliver a smarter grid.
The analysis uses National Grid's four Future Energy Scenarios (FES) as a framework. The areas include 1) Sources of demand: Electric Vehicles, heat pumps and air conditioning and strategic new housing and commercial developments. 2)Distributed generation: both renewable and fossil fuel. 3)Battery storage.
Going forward SSEN intends to analyse how these distributed demand and generation connections, will operate and identify potential services they can provide. This will give a picture of the cumulative impact of the four scenarios on the network, both identifying the potential network constraints that result and the opportunities for mitigating those constraints through flexibility.
