  • Our projects in England

We are committed to keeping the lights on for all our customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As part of our commitment,  we are investing millions every year to upgrade and improve the electricity supplies in your area.

We are installing the most up-to-date and resilient equipment, and leading the way with innovative projects to ensure that our network is ahead of the challenges we face as green technologies become ever more popular.

Our ongoing commitment includes replacing sections of the network which have a poor performance history and reliability issues, and that is why we are replacing over 15km of 66,000 volt (66kV) gas-filled cables between Ealing and Isleworth.

  • Isle of Wight cable

Our £13 million project to replace one of the subsea cables between the Isle of Wight and the mainland is now complete. This new state-of-the-art cable, along with the two existing ones, is buried below the sea which means that it is away from danger and makes the electricity supply much more robust and reliable.

We have successfully completed our £10m project to install 11km of new underground cables between Iver and Slough, a project which will make the local network more resilient and improve supplies to nearly 60,000 homes and businesses.
