  • Connections Information - Competition in Connections – Contestable activities

Find out what contestable activities you can undertake, the processes to follow and how to get started

  • At SSEN we actively promote fair and open competition in connections to ensure that our customers have a choice in who delivers their new connections. We are also committed to maintaining and continuously developing an environment to facilitate competition. In order to achieve this, we regularly engage with our ICPs and IDNOs to gather their feedback on improvements. As a result of this engagement we undertook a review on contestable activities as a commitment in this year’s ICE work plan. We are pleased to report this review has now been completed on target in Q4.

The review considered the opportunity to extend the boundaries of contestability of wider services, not directly connected to connection works. The review also highlighted a number of areas that require further consideration. As we are stakeholder led, we propose to discuss the outcome of this review further with our key stakeholders during our upcoming stakeholder group forums, which are currently planned to take place in the summer.

We welcome all feedback and look forward to engaging with our stakeholders on this topic in the future, if you have any queries please contact connectionsfeedback@sse.com
